Our philosophy at Gen and Moon is deeply founded in the belief that your skin health is the cornerstone to confidence and can be achieved through a holistic lens aiming to bridge the gap between mind, body, and skin. We strive to empower this confidence through our expert skincare protocols, client treatment plans, and routines curated by our advanced estheticians and network of functional healthcare professionals.

Meet the Team

Sydney Foster

Licensed Esthetician, Owner, Student Herbalist

Sydney has always had a passion for healing the skin and making meaningful connections with those around her. Being able to offer advanced facials and waxing services with a drive for results while offering a safe space for relaxation has always been the quality she strives for. Continuing education to give her clients a well rounded experience is a passion of hers as she is currently certified in facial lymphatic drainage massage, facial cupping and gua sha techniques, as a melanoma awareness advocate through Impact Melanoma, ingredients knowledge through Concepts Institute of Advanced Esthetics, Lira Clinical Skincare Product Knowledge, hydrodermabrasion and microcurrent modalities, as a specialist in inflamed skin conditions, and full body specialty waxing. She is truly excited to connect with her community through her quaint spa location nestled in the serene Sierra Nevada Foothills.

Makenna Curlee

Licensed Esthetician, Spa Manager, Brow Sculpting Specialist

Makenna has been a licensed esthetician since 2019 after graduating from Federico Beauty Institute that lead her to work and train under Ulta Beauty as a Benefit arch expert, Massage Envy where she was promoted to lead esthetician for her region, and eventually as an esthetician, manager, and brow expert at Gen and Moon Skincare + Wellness where she currently undergoes continuous trainings and services clients. Makenna has an affinity for all things skincare and brows, even being featured by the brand Nova Wax for her clean eye brow shaping results. Her goal in the treatment room is to give those she treats a sense of safety as she combines her advanced trainings in microdermabrasion, peels, and holistic skin philosophies with a focus on tangible results and a restorative facial experience. Her love for creating a safe space where her clients receive their desired results in a judgment-free zone allows her to form connection and trust with anyone laying on her treatment table.

Kalinna Turner

Licensed Esthetician, Full Body Specialty Waxer

Kalinna earned her esthetics credentials from Hoss Lee Academy eventually leading her to gain ample full body waxing experience through European Wax Center. After joining the Gen & Moon team she has further refined her knowledge in holistic specialty waxing, earned certifications in advanced epidermal histology, microbiome and cellular support methodology, facial lymphatic drainage, and advanced holistic skincare treatments. She has been complimented on her restorative scalp and eye massages. Kalinna has always had a passion for creating memorable experiences with those around her. Her goal in the treatment room is to offer her clients a deep understanding of their skin, clearly outline how to achieve their skin and waxing goals, and offer relaxation based services for a well rounded experience.

  • I have had many facials with Sydney and I swear every single time it is the best facial I’ve ever had! She’s so incredibly knowledgeable. The best part of every facial (other than the fact that she does everything she can to help my skin) is that she is kind and so comforting.   • At Gen and Moon we encourage all new clients looking to treat their skin book either a consultation or new client facial.

  • Relaxation paired with clinical treatments is the Gen and Moon specialty. While all of our services include relaxation benefits, to truly experience a relaxation focused service we recommend our Deluxe Relaxation Facials.

  • We offer both virtual and physical gift cards.

  • While most acne clients achieve results within 3-6 months there is not a timeline guaranteed due to the unique conditions, skin type, acne type, and severity of each individual. Our spa customizes treatment plans with thorough education and consultation on a case by case basis- book a new client facial or consult for more personalized advice from our team of estheticians to gain further insight for your personal case.

  • While we do not pressure sales of our retail products we do find those who invest in our recommendations have the best success achieving their skincare goals. We will always provide affordable options here at our spa with your personal goals in mind as we feel it is our duty as your skincare professional to have quality solutions available for you- education on these recommendations is something we pair with every service to ensure you are informed and confident with every purchase.

  • We recommend coming with a fresh face free of makeup, a list of any current skincare and supplements/medications being used, avoid exfoliation 3-4 days pre-service, and be prepared to avoid heat, moisture, and sun exposure for a few days post service. We will provide more thorough aftercare in our follow ups after the service is completed. Coming comfy is optional but highly encouraged!

  • Currently the best way to shop our retail is to book a product pickup via our booking link above or contact us to set up a time to browse our retail. For a targeted personalized plan we recommend booking a consultation which includes allotted time for product pickups. We also do ship orders upon request.
