Our Mission

Our philosophy at Gen and Moon is deeply founded in the belief that your wellbeing is the cornerstone to confidence and can be achieved through a holistic lens aiming to bridge the gap between mind, body, and skin. We strive to empower this confidence through our expert skincare protocols, client treatment plans, and routines curated by our collective team of advanced estheticians, massage therapists, energy workers, and network of functional healthcare professionals.

Meet the Team

Sydney Foster

Licensed Esthetician, Owner of Gen&Moon, Student Herbalist

Sydney has always had a passion for healing the skin and making meaningful connections with those around her. Being able to offer advanced facials and waxing services with a drive for results while offering a safe space for relaxation has always been the quality she strives for. Continuing education to give her clients a well rounded experience is a passion of hers as she currently holds numerous certifications including facial lymphatic drainage, treatment of inflamed skin conditions through Concepts Institute of Advanced Esthetics, apprenticed in full body specialty waxing, and is currently undergoing training in the vitalist herbalism approach through ACORN School of Herbal Medicine to continue her work treating the body as a connected system. She believes everyone has the innate and powerful ability to heal when given the right environment and tools. She is truly excited to connect with her community through her quaint spa location nestled in the serene Sierra Nevada Foothills.

Makenna Curlee

Licensed Esthetician, Manager of Gen&Moon, Brow Sculpting Specialist

Makenna has been a licensed esthetician since 2019 after graduating from Federico Beauty Institute that lead her to work and train under Ulta Beauty as a Benefit arch expert, Massage Envy where she was promoted to lead esthetician for her region, and eventually as an esthetician, manager, brow expert, and skincare specialist at Gen and Moon Skincare + Wellness where she currently undergoes continuous trainings and services clients. Makenna has an affinity for all things skincare and brows, even being featured by the brand Nova Wax for her clean eye brow shaping results. Her goal in the treatment room is to give those she treats a sense of safety as she combines her advanced trainings in inflamed skin conditions and holistic skin philosophies with a focus on tangible results through a restorative facial experience. Her love for creating a safe space where her clients receive their desired results in a judgment-free zone allows her to form connection and trust with those laying on her treatment table.

Kalinna Turner

Licensed Esthetician at Gen&Moon, Full Body Specialty Waxer, Facialist

Kalinna earned her esthetics credentials from Hoss Lee Academy leading her to gain ample trainings in full body waxing over the following year. After joining the Gen & Moon team she has further refined her knowledge in holistic specialty waxing, earned certifications in advanced microbiome education, facial lymphatic drainage, holistic and clinical skincare treatments. She has been complimented on her restorative scalp and eye massages. Kalinna has a passion for creating a collaborative treatment space where clients feel heard and held, bridging the gap between real results and nervous system care. Her goal in the treatment room is to offer her clients a deep understanding of their skin, clearly outline how to achieve their skin and waxing goals, and offer relaxation based services for a well rounded experience.

Annalicia Lucero “Lici”

Certified Massage Therapist, Licensed Esthetician, Owner of Rooted in Earth

Dedicated to the art of holistic wellness, Annalicia treats the mind, body, and spirit as one interconnected system. She believes that therapeutic touch is an archetypal human need and advocates for massage therapy as a safe, natural alternative to pharmaceuticals for pain management. Her sessions are an invitation to bring deeper awareness back into the physical body while simultaneously guiding the nervous system home. She is extremely passionate about using botanicals in the treatment room to nourish and protect the skin barrier. Her top priority is providing a safe space where every individual feels seen, heard, and held. Annalicia earned her esthetics credentials from Federico Beauty Institute and her massage therapy credentials from National Holistic Institute.

Miranda Hope Ramirez

Reiki Master, QHHT Practitioner, Owner of Hopes Healing

Miranda is certified in and offers a variety of healing services that support the physical, spiritual, and soul levels of healing. In her sessions, Miranda combines reiki, nutritional therapy, and QHHT (quantum healing hypnosis therapy) to create a holistic and well rounded approach to wellness. Reiki is an ancient form of energy healing that she uses to help clients relax, ground, and reset while QHHT is a powerful technique that deep dives at the soul level to offer enlightening answers and supporting healing within. She has a great deal of experience working with the many layers of healing and integrating them into a practice that feels whole and balanced. She is dedicated to creating an environment where each client feels seen, heard, and supported in her presence.

July Eagleton

Certified Massage Therapist, Owner of July Crocker Massage Therapy

July is a graduate of Chico Massage School building roots in California since 2022. She is passionate about creating a welcoming, comfortable experience to help others feel their best. July has a focus in deep tissue and personalized therapeutic massage with a mission in helping every client feel refreshed and centered in their body through techniques grounded in anatomy and function. Her specialty truly shines in those seeking relief in tissue recovery. You will find sessions with her are as educational as they are relaxing. A goal of hers is to change the narrative surrounding deep tissue work to show you it can be a rejuvenating, pleasant experience. She is thoroughly trained in multiple modalities including hot stone therapy and proper deep tissue massage techniques while honoring the nervous system, because you and your body matter.

  • I have had many facials with Sydney and I swear every single time it is the best facial I’ve ever had! She’s so incredibly knowledgeable.   • At Gen and Moon we encourage all new clients looking to treat their skin book either a consultation or new client facial. For additional inquiries on massage therapy and energy work services fill out our contact form and we will be in contact shortly.

  • Relaxation paired with clinical treatments is the Gen and Moon specialty. While all of our services include relaxation benefits, to truly experience a relaxation focused service we recommend our Deluxe Relaxation Facials or Massage services with our team of specialized massage therapists.

  • We offer both virtual and physical gift cards.

  • While most acne clients achieve results within 3-6 months there is not a timeline guaranteed due to the unique conditions, skin type, acne type, and severity of each individual. Our spa customizes treatment plans with thorough education and consultation on a case by case basis- book a new client facial or consult for more personalized advice from our team of estheticians to gain further insight for your personal case.

  • While we do not pressure sales of our retail products we do find those who invest in our recommendations have the best success achieving their skincare goals. We will always provide affordable options here at our spa with your personal goals in mind as we feel it is our duty as your skincare professional to have quality solutions available for you- education on these recommendations is something we pair with every service to ensure you are informed and confident with every purchase.

  • We recommend coming with a fresh face free of makeup, a list of any current skincare and supplements/medications being used, avoid exfoliation 3-4 days pre-service, and be prepared to avoid heat, moisture, and sun exposure for a few days post service. We will provide more thorough aftercare in our follow ups after the service is completed. Coming comfy is optional but highly encouraged!

  • Currently the best way to shop our retail is to book a product pickup via our booking link above or contact us to set up a time to browse our retail. For a targeted personalized plan we recommend booking a consultation which includes allotted time for product pickups.

Policies

Booking an appointment at Gen and Moon Skincare + Wellness confirms that you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Thank you for respecting and valuing our time and policies set in place at Gen and Moon Skincare + Wellness that allows our business to continue to provide quality services to our community members and valued clientele.

The Gen & Moon Team

  • Cancellations and reschedules made less than 2 days prior your appointment day will result in a charge of 50% of your booked service value. Same day cancellations and no shows will be charged 100% of the appointment cost. You are welcome to send someone else to take the place of your booked service to avoid a cancellation fee so long as the service provider is notified and approves the changes.

    A client who has four or more late cancellations or reschedules made less than 48 hours prior to the appointment time in the span of 6 months will be banned from booking any future appointments at Gen and Moon Skincare + Wellness.

  • All no shows will be charged 100% of the original booked service price.

    In the event a client cancels or reschedules an appointment within 48 hours prior to the appointment date or no shows their appointment, the client will not be able to book any future appointments until the late cancellation, late reschedule, or no show fee is paid in full.

    All charges will be made to the card placed on file or invoiced to the email on file at the time of booking. In the event a card is declined, the client cannot rebook until the fee is paid in full.

    Fees are not to be applied toward any future services as it is compensation for the losses accrued from the originally reserved, but cancelled, appointment time.

  • In the event you are running late please call or text to let your provider know.

    If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment we may ask that you reschedule your appointment. If we are unable to take you at the time you arrive to your appointment due to being late there will be a 50% charge of the service booked due to it being considered a late cancellation to cover any losses a missed service has on our business.

    If you are late and the service is able to be performed, your service may be shortened to avoid running late and inconveniencing the clients booked after your appointment. There is a $20 late fee to compensate for the inconvenience of rushing the service and shortening necessary time needed for consultation, proper clean up, and any products pre-dispensed and now deemed unusable.

  • All clients must have a current or active credit card on file at all times or risk any future appointments being banned if fees stated above are not paid in full.

    Credit card payments will only be charged for late cancellations, late reschedules, or no show appointments without notice.

    Failure to have an active card on file will result in a suspension in booking any future appointments until a new card is presented and payment is collected. Any contested payments will result in a permanent ban from Gen & Moon Skincare + Wellness.

    We reserve the right to refuse service.

  • Cancellation and no show policies additionally apply to gift certificates. Any appointments booked to use a gift certificate that are late cancelled or no-showed will automatically void or take value from the certificate to the value of the cancellation or no show policy infringed. Gift certificates cannot be redeemed for cash.

    Any products, certificates, and sales purchased from Gen and Moon Skincare + Wellness are final. In the event there is an adverse reaction to product, notify Gen and Moon Skincare + Wellness as soon as possible to receive a store credit voucher for a replacement item within two weeks of purchase.
